The Outdoor Adventure Show Has Been Postponed

In light of recent public facility closures due to the Covid-19 virus, the North Island Outdoor Adventure Show has been postponed to April 24-25, 2021.  Please contact our administrative supervisor Lori Olsson at 250-830-6766 between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday to discuss refunds or registration for 2021.

Safe Boating Practices from the Office of Boating Safety

Alistair Crawford (Boating Safety Officer, Office of Boating Safety, Transport Canada)

The Office of Boating Safety encourages safe boating practices and compliance with regulations. For each type of boating activity, there are specific skills needed and procedures to follow for a safe and enjoyable experience. This session will deal with compliance, accessibility and maintenance of required safety equipment for pleasure craft. Questions are always welcome!

Join the West Coast Kayak Angler Series experts to see the variety of options and how easy it is to turn your kayak, canoe or even paddle board into a fishing machine! Outfitting yourself is very similar to outfitting any other boat. Learn how to overcome the challenges of limited storage space aboard your human propelled vessel.

In this interactive workshop, you will learn about your career options, the small amount of training required to get started and get practical ideas about connecting to the industry and expanding your options. The Campbell River Search and Rescue Society is a group of dedicated volunteers who since 1976 have provided a vital lifeline to those who are lost or injured in the beautiful wilderness of northern Vancouver Island. Find out how this dedicated group of volunteers is activated, the areas they cover and the specialized training they have to help you when needed.
